Good things come to those who bid
The A1200 is all mine! Winning the auction was much simpler than I had previously anticipated. I guess the other bidder wasn't as hardcore as me. I can't wait till it arrives, it's been a long time coming. I can't believe I've forgotten so much about what I used to know about the Amiga and the OS. I used to know quite a lot back then, lots of useless bits of information. It's a shame I've forgotten so much, because it took a long time to remember it all. I don't quite know why I stopped using the Amiga... hmm... let me think. I suppose I could put it down to two things: One, the fact I had made new friends, who of course, were all PC users. So to integrate with them I slowly joined the Windows side. Two, around that time I had just started University, so to me back then, it seemed like a better idea to take a PC than an Amiga. There must have been an actual reason as to why I choose a PC over an Amiga - I can't put my finger on it. I'll putting it down to being thick haha!
I've got big plans for my A1200, but, right now I'm heading to bed.

Boing! Indeed...
Worth every penny?
In about ten hours I could be the new owner of a smart A1200. It's currently listed on eBay and come 9.25pm, a bidding war will ensue - I'm sure of it. I have a clear budget of how much I want to spend in total including postage. However, eBay has a knack for making me forget this and I know I'll convince myself into spending a little more than I had planned to. Of course the situation will become much worse if I'm bidding head-to-head against a die hard Amiga fan. Y'know the type, he'll probably have the Amiga Boing Ball tattooed on his body somewhere. And the fact this person is bidding on a machine which is ten years old must make him a fan!
And now to answer my question. No matter how much I eventually end up spending on making this A1200 mine, yes, it is worth every penny.

It could have been a Sega!
It was the day after my 11th birthday and like every Saturday before, my whole family and I were in Warrington Town Centre. However, this day was different. We had walked past all the usual shops, eventually making our way along a side road behind one of the large department stores. At the end of this road, on the corner, there was a small computer shop called Pyramid & Micro's. I had never heard of it, so I had no idea what they were selling.
It turns out, my Dad had planned to buy me a computer for my Birthday. I stood in the middle of the shop looking at the posters on the walls and at the many monitors all displaying various games and running demos. I was excited, but didn't really know much about what was going on so I just stood and stared. My Dad never asked me what I wanted. If he had, I probably would have asked for a Sega, so I'm glad he made the choice himsef. After what seemed like an eternity, we were walking out of the shop with two massive boxes. One had Cartoon Classics plastered across the front and the other was a Philips Monitor.
